Was able to use only after removing the spoiler. So long as you make all connections tight this works great. Using it for a women's mountain bike with a tension cross bar. Don't see how you could have two bikes on but as I'm using it, it works great. I needed a trunk mount rack to take 2 bikes on a 3 hour trip north. After reading reviews forever I decided to go with this one because it was cheap and seemed like it would work. After reading how to install the rack it only take a few minutes to put on and even less to take off. My bikes aren't the greatest so after getting them on the mount I didn't care that they where touching in areas as long as the mechanics where in good shape. Make sure to tie the wheel so they don't spin and to place a cloth of some sort where the hooks connect to the truck to avoid scratching your vehicle. I drive a 2011 Fusion with a spoiler and it fits over it without a problem. This rack held up on the 3 hours trip to and from and I have taken it to the local trails many times since. One thing to note this is not for smaller, kid, or odd shaped bike so make sure it will fit yours before purchasing. If you want to spend your money on a high end Thule or Saris go for it but if you want to save some cash get this one. We recently made a trip from Massachusetts to Minnesota (approximately 1500 miles). We had never transported our bikes using a rack of any kind before, let alone on a trip of this distance. We bought this rack a couple days before leaving, not sure if it would work, be stable enough, fit our bikes, or car, etc. We rented a standard Volkswagen sedan.The rack took a little while and a few different brains to figure out how it worked (the directions were a little confusing). However, once the rack was secure and the bikes were mounted, we didn't have even the slightest problem on the entire 1500 mile trip. We used an old dish cloth to cushion one of the pedals that looked like it may scratch up against the body of the car. We went over all kinds of bumpy terrain in Cleveland and Chicago and the rack didn't budge. The bikes were so secure we even forgot to worry about them at one point.When we finally arrived at our destination and took the bikes and rack off, there wasn't one mark left, no scratches, nothing. For the price and convenience and security of this rack, it is our opinion that you couldn't go wrong. I would think the only issue could be whether it fits your vehicle and don't forget to get an adapter for ladies bikes. We used some bungie cords to extra secure it. Initially for a first time user it was hard to figure out.. once you got the hang of the positioning it was cake.. I never could figure out what to do with the strap that seemed to go under the bumper? I just used it to tie down the bike some more to the rack. I've gone up to 55 mph with it and no problems... I do recommend watching which side you place your bike facing.. the kick stand will scratch up your bumper so face it outwards.. Otherwise it's pretty easy.. I always took it off when i was done with it so i can't comment on long term paint damage by leaving it on and such. The manual was tissue paper quality and quickly fell apart during initial assembly sadly but guides are online and even videos on it. I absolutely love the bike rack. At first, I was scared because the bikes might fall off but the rack is strong enough to hold our bikes as long as you secure them properly. Now we can use our bikes and my kids just love biking around the park. Good bike rack for a cheap price. Does the job. Used it to drive from NC to Va to do a triathlon and did not notice any scratches/ problems with my car. Easy to install. Does the job! Fantastic bike rack! Purchased it to take a 30+ pound Fuji bike from Michigan to California, and then used it to take 2 Trek road bikes from California to Georgia (by way of Oregon). Rack was used on a Honda Civic and Subaru Outback.Through 40+ mph winds in Wyoming, the rains of the pacific northwest, and 16 days of driving (5-9 hours a day) across the US at 65-75 mph, the most significant problem I experienced was having to slightly re-tighten the straps (a 30 second procedure) when stopping for gas, especially rough roads and high winds.Being sure to mount it correctly and securing the straps well, I have never had a problem with this rack. I was worried buying such a relatively cheap rack to take my bike(s) back and forth across the country, but it has proved itself to be very clearly up to the task. I was a little hesitant since some of the reviews said certain bikes don't fit and it doesn't work on all cars, etc. But at 39 bucks what the heck. We have two adult size mountain bikes (male and female) and let me tell you they mounted perfectly, like rocks. No swaying or banging and fit together great when you mount them pointing in opposite directions. Yes, pay attention to the pedals because they can come close to the body of certain cars so just put an old sock on them if there's a question. Not a problem on our 2004 Corolla. It was so easy to mount I had to look back at the instructions because I thought I did something wrong. Nope, I didn't, it's just that simple. Super rack that anyone can afford. Have fun! I purchased the Allen for the purpose of taking my bike on a 600 mile drive. The rack held up very nicely and the bike was in good shape upon arrival. I've used the rack around town since that time and it's continued to hold up.
