This isn't the best lock in the world, but it's enough of a deterrent if you also have a cable on the bike. The Kryptonite Keeper 12 Standard Bicycle U-lock is wonderful and it has already proven to be a very good bicycle lock that I've been using it in the last few weeks. Pretty durable lock for under 20 bucks. Nice design in that the back hooks on to the bracket (it's not just a straight "U" shape; you can't just pull it straight up when you unlock it). Key doesn't get stuck like Master Lock's. I don't use the lock holder, so I can't comment on that. But the lock itself does have a pretty nice weight to it; overall, it'd be my choice of lock for a cheaper bike.UPDATE:It's been 8 months since I've bought this lock, and I still have it and my bike. There are a few scratches on it now, but it's still in great working condition. Again, it's a good choice for a cheaper bike. I had the same problem that other reviewers had. I ordered the product anyway because I believed that Kryptonite makes good locks and stands behind their products. I just took it out of the package and noticed a major flaw. The fitting is attached to the opposite side of the lock as it is in the picture (above) and you cannot slide it into the clamp without hitting the bike frame. This is hard to describe but like others above me, I realized that it doesn't work. I thought that this was too stupid of a problem to be real, so I wracked my brain for about 20 minutes trying to figure out why I was so dumb and couldn't figure it out. Turns out, I'm not the one who's dumb--whoever assembled this attachment is! I guess we'll just carry the lock on our handlebars or in a backpack, but as far as attaching the lock to the frame.... FORGET IT!
