The padlock itself is very solid, but the clip is weak. I tried to tighten the small part of the clip that remains in the padlock, but it is still a little bit loose. This causes that the padlock moves in bumps, sometimes hitting the frame. I decided to keep the padlock it in my camelbak. The price is really good tho and I guess you can find a way to keep that thing straight. Had to get a new lock because my old cheapie one rusted shut in the rain. This one has held up great so far, it seems to be really great quality. I haven't mounted it on my frame so that part really isn't an issue for me. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. I was fooled by the reviews that said a few minor adjustments would fix the problem that the clamp is on the wrong side of the lock. Yes, with a screwdriver you can loosen and adjust the clamp, but this does not solve the problem. You cannot simply turn the lock around, and you cannot move the clamp to the other side of the lock. I'm returning mine. Amazon should be ashamed that they continue to offer this product. And, no, there are no instructions included. Like many other reviewers here, I can confirm the state of the lock here. It's a good basic lock with some solid security design features that might not end up in the generic U-Locks you find elsewhere.The mounting bracket is certified stupid, however. Definitely another confirmation for useless carry bracket for mounting. For those who cannot understand the possibility of this, the mounting bracket provides insufficient clearance for the end of the lock. You cannot fit the mounting slide onto the bracket because the bike frame gets in the way. If their mounting bracket were longer and more distant from the frame, this wouldn't be the case. I have had kryptonite locks that worked just fine in the past, but this one stinks. It is extremely difficult to get the key to turn all the way to fully unlock it or lock it. I think this is due to poor machining of the metal on my lock. They need some better quality control. This is why I never buy anything online! Clamp is on the wrong side.
