After using two of these "lights" for around two weeks the batteries were dead. Can't figure out why. They didn't light up when I road my scooter. Just if I took them off and shook them up and down. No one every saw them light when the scooter was moving. Not worth bending over to screw them on the stem. I've tried the red, multi-color, green and these blue ones. These are the brightest and work the best. The blink if you are going slow on the bike, but are constantly a-glow when going fast. Great for my bike and my boys bikes. These things are pretty awful. It was built to light up when it was in motion with the circuit being completed through vibration. Upon dissection, I found out that there is a little metal piece that is in a tube that makes contact when it is shook. Sounds good in theory, but the problem is the motion of a bicycle wheel is generally uniform, and not too chaotic. So unless you're biking down a mountain, this thing probably wont light up too much. So I modded it so there is always contact and its on when I want it to be on.With that said, the light is bright enough and it did screw on to my tire wheel fine. Hence the 2 stars. But that's if you plan on taking it apart and messing with it. Oh and no instructions or anything came with it. So I guess I'm just lucky that I like to tinker with things.I would buy a different kind. my 3 year old girl was enthralled by the light but item quality is like 1 star...wonder how long it'll last? Well made products. Received quickly exactly what I ordered. Product functioned as advertised and the kids love them on their bikes. I found that of the red, green and blue lights that the green seem to be the brightest or most visible. These do not seem to have a daylight sensor in them so they will illuminate even during the day. if i ride too slowly the lights don't light up. after a couple weeks, one of them became much less sensitive than the other and now it only flickers a couple times on each rotation of the wheel. other than this...batteries are holding up well and the lights look cool. These were a snap to install, and I think they add a lot of visibility when I'm biking at night. They're fun and the price is right! You get what you pay for and in this case it isn't much. The lights stop flashing when you are a constant speed because there is no 'motion' to set them off so they are kind of worthless when you are riding at a steady pace. They are cheap enough tho that you don't have to worry about being stolen or broken. Don't let the marketing pics fool you. I bought two, and I've had them now for 2 weeks. My use is on a bicycle.The valve is schrader (not presta). I thought these would illuminate uponthe spinning of the wheel due to the outward force. But in actuality,in a bicycle application, they do not. They do illuminate (or blink)upon shock. On a bicycle, when going over bumps at moderate speed, theydo light up and are quite attention-getting at night. Interestingly,and higher bicycle speeds (>10 mph), even a bumpy road will not makethem light. Perhaps this is because the outward spin force is greaterthan the shock (or impluse) force from each bump. The lighting describedabove does not matter if it is daylight or night.
