The light works well. It's distance of luminosity is not astounding, but it will light up the immediate road way. I've had it for only a short while so i can't speak to its durability, but I love it so far. it is surprisingly bright, and well exceeds my expectations. The intensity of the light will get you noticed, and provide you adequate visibility in the dark spots of your routes. Don't hesitate on buying this unless you like to ride in the middle of the night through vampire infested woods.
